Candle Care - How to maximize the lifespan of your candle

"Candle Care" is a familiar concept for seasoned candle enthusiast, however, if you are just starting your candle obsession this may be an unfamiliar term. In order to achieve peak candle performance and preserve the life of your candle follow the Candle Care Guide below. This guide is universal for all candles.

Candle Care Guide

  • Trim wick to ¼’’ before each burn. Leave the wick as is if it's already this length.
  • Allow enough time (1-2 hours) for wax to melt completely to all edges. This helps avoid tunneling*.
  • Do not burn for longer than four hours and cool for at least two hours before relighting.
  • Place your candle on a stable surface away from flammable objects and drafts.
  • Keep burning candles out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Burn candle within sight at all times. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Tunneling happens when only a small portion of the wax around the wick melts while the candle is burning. Instead of having the entire surface of the wax melt evenly, it will appear as though the flame is burrowing into the candle and creating what resembles a small, vertical tunnel — hence the name.
